Dozen Books is Israel’s book design competition, showcasing high-quality book design to a wider audience. A dozen published books and half a dozen graduation projects are selected, with the winners continuing to Best Book Design from all over the World in Leipzig.
In 2025, we created the competition’s visual identity across social media, exhibition design, and events at Teder in Tel Aviv.
The visual language was based on an open book spread viewed from above. Its central spine and two facing pages became the organizing principle of the identity.

Through four films from across the Arab world, a comparative gaze unfolds on youth at a moment of rupture — between childhood and adulthood, between personal identity and a society that does not always grant it space. Set against shifting political and social landscapes, these films explore coming-of-age.

The project grew from a lifelong love of cinema, rooted in childhood, and from a complex personal relationship with a culture and language from which I later distanced myself.

Linguistic note — the title أربعة الفيلم intentionally uses non-standard Arabic, reflecting a fragmented relationship with the language.

Two posters were designed for The Foyer, a film by Michal Houminer and Ron Katzenelson, as part of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art’s 90th anniversary celebrations. The film explores the museum’s history through its foyer, examining the space’s role and significance.
Developed in response to a rough-cut poster brief, one poster is photography-based, while the other offers a graphic interpretation of the foyer’s sloping ramps, transforming their architectural forms into a bold, abstract composition.

An experimental visual identity for Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, developed through the exploration of typography, projection and distortion. Using titles from events held at the academy as a starting point, I projected typography onto walls and experimented with manual manipulations to transform familiar letterforms into unexpected shapes and compositions.
This process became the foundation for a new visual language, translating experimental typography into an identity that extends across print and motion.

In Israel, a secret is more than information — it’s a
quiet language, a shield, a source of power, or a cause for fear.
It can be political, social, or deeply personal. In an age that prizes transparency, what remains of the secret? Perhaps it now lives as an act of subversion, asking only to be heard differently.

The book explores ethnic segregation within Israeli society, with a particular emphasis on Jewish immigrants from Arab countries and their descendants. It examines the cultural and linguistic assimilation of an entire community as part of its integration into Israeli society.
Through a research-based approach, the book investigates sectarian discourse, the tensions between ethnic and local cultures, and the challenges and barriers faced by Jewish immigrants from Arab countries.

Territorial wars involve the occupation and invasion of territories held by others, raising questions of power, control, and conquest.
This publication explores virginity as a symbol of territorial conflict, drawing parallels between the concept of virginity and territorial struggles. It examines the dynamics between conqueror and conquered, both in relationships between nations and between boys and girls.
The publication also incorporates imagery from films that engage with these themes.
The idea for the publication originated from a research paper I had written several months earlier for the theoretical course Arab Cinema in the Contemporary World, taught by Eyal Sagui Bizawe. In the paper, I explored virginity as an analogy for territorial invasion, an idea that later became the conceptual foundation for the publication.

The exhibition explores questions of identity, belonging, and collective self-definition through works that reflect on the social and political realities of recent years. Presented at Beit Hansen in Jerusalem.
The visual identity interprets these themes through a form-based approach inspired by documents and administrative materials, incorporating elements such as pins, papers, and modular layouts to create a structured yet open visual system.
